The Septuagint is the ancient translation of the Hebrew Bible into Greek, with additions and modifications.

The editio princeps of the Septuagint was printed in the Complutensian Polyglot (Madrid 1514-17, but distributed only in 1520). The Aldine edition, produced independently in Venice [Italy], followed but was actually the first to appear in 1518.
